Paperback – OUT NOW!
You can buy my debut novel, Blood Runs True, in paperback, either from my own store on this website or through Amazon. US readers who wish to buy a paperback copy will need to go to Amazon.com, as I currently do not offer international shipping.
For UK-based readers, however, I’d humbly ask you to consider buying from me directly. Amazon charges fees on top of mere printing costs, so by buying direct, more of what you pay goes to the author (see the pricing note below). Plus, you save £2 off the Amazon price, and if you know me personally, ask about whether you can get free shipping!

Q: So many choices!? Where should you buy from?
A: If you want to support me directly, buy direct! If you want to help make the traditional brick-and-mortar stores aware of my novel, as well as increasing my official sales numbers, buy from Waterstones. If you just can’t wait to read Blood Runs True, buy from Amazon for fastest delivery, and to boost my book in their ratings.
E-books – OUT NOW!
I am working on being able to see e-books directly, but do not currently offer this. For those of you who prefer the immediacy and portability of an e-book, head straight to Amazon to download a Kindle copy to be delivered to your device.

I have no secrets! So I want to share with you what makes up the cost of the book you are buying. I am published through Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), a subsidiary of Amazon.
Amazon says it costs £5.10 to print a copy of Blood Runs True (at an estimated 440 pages long). As the author, I can purchase copies from Amazon at this price, which I can then sell via my own online store. (This is legal, and Amazon allow authors to do this.) When I sell a copy via my website, for £10, I make a profit of £4.90 (less fees charged by the payment processor). Any discounts or offers beyond this will be a reduction in the income I receive.
I charge £3 postage on top of this as standard. Books are sent via Royal Mail Second Class, which I buy for £2.85 (based on the weight of one book). Packaging costs me £0.18 per parcel. This gives a total P&P cost to me of £3.03.
When I sell via Amazon, they add costs for dealing with the shipping to the customer, etc. The minimum amount Amazon will allow Blood Runs True to be listed at is £8.50. When I sell a paperback copy through Amazon for £12, I receive a royalty £2.10. (Don’t ask me where the other £1.40 goes – I don’t know!) Any postage costs you incur on top of this amount go only to Amazon.
When I sell an e-book via Amazon (charged at £3.00), I earn a royalty of approx £2.05.
Blood Runs True is currently a “Print on Demand” book. This means that, when you order a copy from Amazon, they must then print the book before it can be shipped out to you – there is no stock sitting in a warehouse ready to be sent out. This means delivery might be slower than normal, and one-day/Prime delivery might not be available.
